Here is the list of speakers:

– Chris Kluwe is our keynote speaker. He is the former punter of the Minnesota Vikings and also an author (he wrote a collection of essays about religion, politics, and all sorts of other things called “Beautifully Unique Sparkleponies: On Myths, Morons, Free Speech, Football, and Assorted Absurdities.” Here’s an Amazon link:

Chris has been in the news a lot the last two weeks or so, including an appearance on Anderson Cooper 360 last week, because he was allegedly fired from his job as an NFL football player with the Vikings because of his frequent public statements in support of LGBTQ rights. He wrote an article where he went into great detail about all the homophobia and discrimination in the NFL and how this led to his being fired. His article had 4 million views the last time I checked:

Our main speakers, besides Chris, are:
– Denise Stapley, who was the one million dollar grand prize winner of the reality show Survivor: Philippines. Denise is also the only registered sex therapist in the state of Iowa, where she lives. She’s never spoken at an atheist convention before.

– Mark White is the bassist of the Grammy-nominated alternative band Spin Doctors. He’s also an artist and teaches privately in Katy, Texas, where he lives, although he’s originally from NYC. This will also be his first time speaking for an atheist audience.

– Barbara Hillary is an adventurer and was the first African American woman to reach the both the North and South Poles. The more amazing part is that at the time of her first of the two trips, to the North Pole, she was 79 years old! Again this is her first time speaking to an atheist audience.

Other speakers, who are more well-known to atheist audiences, are writer/blogger/LGBTQ activist Greta Christina, YouTuber Brian Keith Dalton aka Mr. Deity (who is also a former Mormon), debater and host of the Atheist Experience Matt Dillahunty, Dr. Sikivu Hutchinson, Reverend Barry Lynn, blogger and biologist PZ Myers, Maryam Namazie of the Council of Ex-Muslims, Faisal Saeed al Mutar of the Global Secular Humanist Movement, and a bunch more…

Ernie Chambers (Nebraska state senator), Yau-man Chan (from the show Survivor), and Beth Presswood are being added as speakers.

  1. I think it’s funny that this convention is held in Salt Lake City, UT, arguably the Mormon capitol of America.

But, I kinda wanna go to this.

  2. I went to Apostacon last year (by myself, not knowing anyone) and I have never felt so welcomed into a social group. It was wonderful. I would go again in a heartbeat, should another convention be held near here.

  3. Honestly this sounds cool.
But it almost sounds like people are preaching Atheism.
We should still respect peoples beliefs regards of how fairy tale they are.

    1. +Frank Lee Seaux
I actually like what you have to say though…so not sure why we are arguing, but fun nonetheless

    2. +common Sense
Yeah, it has been fun to argue with a fellow atheist who doesn’t get all butt hurt just because someone used some vitriolic and harsh language.

    1. +Chris Dodds Did i forget to mention that all the people these fake atheists (that are really serpent bloodline)dupe into believing there is no Creator God actually morph the unbelievers into the demonic at these atheist conventions…Thats right ladies and gentlemen, theres a huge reason behind the atheism fraud….once they have you surrounded, you’re pretty much fucked, and without any protection from the Creator of universes, you’re going to get morphed into the demonic and then you become the definition of misery itself and thats by them, thats not including your eternal pass into the Creators prison for the damned…thats a whole other ball park of misery…thats when all you demon cocksuckers have all your little powers stripped and enter the brimstone pitts of Hell where you have every bad intention that you ever had towards humanity come back at you 10fold….and thats the grand finale final firework to end all the evil scumbags there ever was…and the world will shine in glory…and then the Creator is going to give all his people all the planets that rotate around all those stars(suns) as the wicked are forgotten like the plagued disease that they are…The punishment is just to all those that helped deceive and destroy life itself…LOL, little imp, you can go fuck yourself …straight into the abyss..

  6. I would love to go to the meeting but living in the UK its a bit of a long and expensive trip to get there. You should visit Europe, there are many more Atheists here.

    1. <3 I was just being a smart ass. But i love what you guys are about. I bet your sexiest feature is your brain and i would LOVE to pick it :) Smart is the new hot babe. Best wishes to you and your org. cheers from eastern Canada

  7. I wish I was in a country where conventions like that took place.
Furthermore, I wish that I was in a country that even had member groups where you can meet with other atheists
I even wish I was in a country where it wouldn’t be diffucult finding atheist friends
I wish that I was in a country where my own mother doesn’t try to convince me to be catholic
I wish that I was in a country where a christian party isn’t in the governing coalition

  8. atheism isn’t a religion BUT they bash those who disagree with them, form fad groups like the one in this video, write books (greatest show on earth, god delusion, selfish gene…etc), yeah right atheism sure isn’t a religion.

  9. I wish I could got to this!! I hope they live stream it. I do not really like the term atheist as I feel it is brand put on me by people of faith, but it seems to stop them asking if I believe in the devil or why am I angry at god. I say I am atheist just to prevent allot of stupid questions on their part and eye rolling and head shaking on my part.

    1. +Litz Mcumbee There, happy. It is called “editing”, easy to fix. Maybe you are faithful to the wrong god. After all there is many to choose from. I hear Gargoyles are in short supply of believers.Yours does not seem to be teaching you very good manners.

  10. What kind of shit is this?

Why muricans? Whyy? Keep it yourself for being atheist

Why ever there is a convention about it?

And even you should pay for it to get free membership?

  11. I want to go so bad! I live in Utah so this would probably be my only chance by I am going to be on a cruise during this…

  12. Sooooo did anybody else have a mormanism ad pop up before this video? Lmao… thought that was pretty funny

  13. Hey Jaclyn just discovered your channel today and was blown away on how similar your view of religion is to mine. just wanted to say keep up the good work

  14. On the one hand I’d love to attend, on the other I’d prefer to never set foot in the United states and especially not Utah. Guess I’ll wait for a Canadian atheist convention

    1. You fucking idiot, if you’ve never set foot in Utah, you have no idea what you are talking about. Another ignorant statement on youtube. You sound more bigoted than atheists and religious nuts…

    2. +generationutena Actually I meant it as a joke (canadian humour, americans BAD) but tone doesn’t carry well in text 🙂 Ah well hope common sense didn’t blow a gasket on a strangers off the cuff remark.

    1. The wealthy are so damn rich, yet we have poverty, we butt are heads into other countries business and cant fix our country hahaha, bs

    2. Besides us talkn bout this wont solve anything, you have ur life and I have mine. I guess well see what happens in the future, more bad shit lol

  15. Atheists cling to evolution harder than Christians cling to their Bibles. Like they saw it happen. Most don’t even realize everything you believe in (you can argue semantics here) is hinged upon the assumption that carbon dating is accurate, which is hinged upon the assumption that we know exactly how something decays over thousands or millions of years and the assumption that no outside factors could have influenced that decay in those millions of years. A pretty hefty assumption imo. There are a handful of other assumptions that go along with carbon dating as well. My point is I hate your fucking arrogance. You don’t actually KNOW shit in the true sense of the word so stop acting like you do.

    1. Honestly, I can’t keep revolving in a circle about this, you will believe what you want and I believe what I know is true, so my responses are over since I see where this type of conversation goes every time, it’s a waste of time. And I’m sure you will respond and I can back, abut it will go on forever so I know when to move on

    2. +common Sense Um, Im not sure why youre citing blogs rather than science journals, but it agrees with me anyways.  Birds are dinosaurs, just like humans are apes.  Nor did I claim to be a biologist, I just claimed you are not, because I seem to know more about evolutionary biology and phylogenetics than you.

    3. +Litz Mcumbee Oh, so lions aren’t felines, they’re just lions?  You’re not too smart are you?

    4. +GreatPirateSolomon Maybe if you put it in terms an indoctrinated fool could understand. Something like…. So Protestants aren’t Christians they are just Protestants. I doubt that would work either though, the stupid is strong with this one.

  16. Psalm 14:1-2
    King James Version (KJV)
14 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

2 The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.

    Romans 3:21-26
    King James Version (KJV)
    21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

    23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

    25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

    1. Appeal to Authority and circular logic, two very elementary logical fallacies. Well done, and welcome to Dumb Comment Hell… again.

    2. +William Evans I believe you called atheists fools.
      Seems thats a bad thing….

      Matthew 5:22

But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be liable to the hell of fire.

I’ll save you a seat by the sulphur pit.

  17. The fool hath said in their heart their is no God. When they knew God glorified Him not as God niether were thankful but became vain in their imaginations.professing themselves to be wise they became fools and their foolish Hearts were darkend.its never a intellectual problem its a moral problem, u can believer whatever u want but

  18. But dont take try to say your Good.u blind, take God our of the picture u have a rampantly violent society thats pornigraphic homosexual, with continual increase in molestation pediphelia, theft scam known, shootings, hoplessness,o morals .God is Holy puré ,Rightous, thats a hard pill to swallow When u have a love relationship with sin.

  19. Litz, you sound like every other ignorant fuck out there denying evolution. You have no idea how carbon dating works and clearly have no idea what the fossil record is. We don’t “cling” to anything. We KNOW natural selection is real as much as we know the Earth revolves around the sun.

  20. Comoñ sense, I wont return insult for insult for insult, number one catolics are not Christians, the isolated cases of pediphila,in america are 50, times more then the scandels

  21. I don’t get it. There’s a place people congregate to talk about how much they don’t believe in something…?

Oh yeah and there’s apple bobbing.

    1. +Ishmon Treleven I am not sure what to read from that!!  I personally do not go to conventions of any kind. To allow someone, anyone, to force feed me their opinion.. I run the other way!!   “parade with all the fixings.” I do not praise a Deity that picks and chooses the well-nourished children of the 1st world and punishes the millions in the 3rd world!!

    2. All the fixings??? So when you raise your hands too Jesus and ask for forgiveness!! What are you asking for?  We as humans did not create this world!! The Nissan that I bought needs a fuel system purge.. God I need help!!

    3. +Kyle Rodgers Look, I don’t believe either. I also don’t see the point in getting together for nothing. I like the debates, the debunking, etc., I think it’s important to intellectually combat religious people in general (whether they are zealots or not) but the conventions, to me, seems like just another religion. Church on Sundays. Dress nice for congregation.

    4. +Ishmon Treleven I see your point. I do my own thinking, which I wear as badge of honor.
Certainly don’t need to convene with other people too help me form my opinion. That is the problem that I have with organized  religion. For ANYONE too claim they know how everything came to be is asinine. To say God did it…. is not answering how God came to be!  Yes the Universe is incredible.. but what is even more incredible is the Creator of that Universe! Thanks for the respectful feed.

  22. I just love the way you speak. Having the portuguese as my first language, it’s kindda hard to understand some phrases, because you talk really fast, but I just love the way you express yourself. ; )

  23. Jaclyn you should totally try to find AronRa while youre there, and get on the Magic Sandwich Show, hes gonna be broadcasting it live from the convention.

  24. I’d really like to attend but Unfortunately, I live in NY and am in high school. So attending would be extremely difficult.

  25. There are transitional forms for all the idiots out there:

    legless lizards
    duck-billed platypus
    flying fish
    archeapteryx (was in transition)
    flightless birds
    races of humans interbreeding
    whales that breathe air
    viruses that mutate

In fact, everything is in transition, it just happens slowly and either stupid people don’t have the capacity to understand it or are too lazy to put the effort into studying nd understanding it.

    1. Right… So, I suppose the sales conventions, energy conferences, and business seminars are also churches.

  26. Sounds interesting, but $300 + for a ticket? What are the speakers going to perform cirque du soleil tricks? Thought the religious people were the only ones good at scamming. hmm…

  27. What a cluster fuck of dumb ass comments. “Atheism is a religion, this proves it!” ….. -_-……or how about “satan’s convention”. You sound fucking stupid lol

  28. This is where I’m from.  Be warned, people in this area of the city are usually well dressed, and are as polite as atheists.
    I am a Mormon atheist.
Oh, and don’t forget to smile if you want to blend in.  And don’t be afraid to walk a couple of blocks north to see the new mall for rich people and temple square.

  29. Jaclyn.  For someone who doesn’t believe in His existence, you spend waaay too much time railing against God.
…Go find something else to do.

    1. +Mockingjay That’d be fine if it wasn’t for 3 fundamental problems:
      1. Religious people force their views on others.
      2. Religious people persecute people with their oppressive and often violent bigotry.
      3. Belief in religion is fundamentally closed minded, anti science, anti logic and irrational.

    2. +TheSaczva
      1.  That’s democracy (Majority dictates to minority)

      2. Religious people don’t persecute YOU..

3.Both Science, and Logic are rooted in the Bible.

    3. +grateful1
      1. No, religious people try to force other people to live a a very specific way and worship their pimp.
In a democracy a majority can have their views on running the state used to determine some things but those should never infringe on individual liberty and free choice to live how you want to live.

      2. Religious people don’t behead me either, should I ignore it when it happens to others?

      3. Fuck off, that’s the most retarded comment I’ve heard in months, pretty much every scientific hypothesis in the bible has been proven wrong several centuries ago.

As for logic, there is no logic in the bible with literally thousands of contradictions.

    4. Ok, so you’ve just exposed yourself as a neophyte on what constitutes democracy… Every form of Government is A DICTATORSHIP… Including democracy.

      2. Secular governments execute people.

      3. Religious people, are historically the Greatest Philosophers, and Scientists.
      That’s not up for debate.

      Issac Newton, etc..

    5. +grateful1
In a democracy a majority should still not able to vote in the enslavement, murder or persecution of minorities.

Most secular and atheistic nations don’t execute people.

      3. is most certainly up for debate, Newton only believed in god because:
      – not believing in god was punishable by; ostracization, prison, torture, murder.
      – his parents told him he believed in god when he was like 2. (like most christians)
      – god was considered to be an absolute fact by everyone in his culture
      – He never applied critical nor scientific thought or reasoning to god and his religion

Believing in a god with literally zero evidence and following 1 out of tens of thousands of religions with tens of thousands of contradictions still makes you an idiot and a bad thinker. Faith is the very definition of bad thinking, bad philosophy and certainly bad science.

Look at the scientific output of the last few decades.
Now weigh that against everything that happened from 0AD-1700AD when religious power went into a long term heavy decline. Now weigh all the scientific development from 1800-1900AD.
      Now from 1900-2000AD

What do you notice? As religion dies exponentially faster science grows exponentially faster.

  32. Hello,
you need Yeshua in life, beeing dying and in eternity.
There is no “we” and no “they”, just you and g-d,
i.e. without g-d “you” is lonely and lost.

  33. I hope you Americans grow your population of skeptics and educated people that throw away religious dogma please don’t lose your first world status because its annoying to hear American say their number one when there like 37th come on at least get up to 5th and talk shit then it isint as sad (sorry if my english is bad)

    1. +TWolf317 How do you learn anything about anything with that mindset?

If you cared to continue, you’d know the reasoning is sound, or at the very least you would have an idea of how to actually criticize the comment.

YOU are “you Americans” incarnate. I’m ashamed of you.

    2. Learning is a real passion of mine. I’m just tired of people lumping all Americans into one pile with the idea of lecturing them on what they “should do.” I’ve never once made a post such as “I think all of the people in “Insert Country” should learn to do “insert my opinion.””

  34. Wow, the way she describes this event, Atheism seems almost like a religion itself.  Youth training, lectures, meetings, membership fees?

    1. Do you even know the definition of “Religion”? Judging from your comment…Nope.
Religion: the practice of religious beliefs; ritual observance of faith.

Since Atheists do not “believe” in any deity with “faith” It is not even close to being a religion.

  35. Hi hi! Have you considered – Nijas Sexless Marriage Rescue (just google it)? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my mate got excellent sex with it.

  36. ROTFLMFAO!!! I come here to watch this atheism themed video, and the YouTube add that I can’t skip is for the movie “SON of GOD”.

Did someone decide that your video needed to be tagged to promote theist views as a counter point? lol

  37. What if u r wrong?? What are you going to say the day you die and have to stand before god??science may have and answer for that!!

  38. I really see why she hates God.  One eye is closer to her nose than the other and no chest.  Jeebers her eyes are weird.  By the way, you are mean!  Why can’t these people just accept people that believe in God.

  39. I love how atheists downplay their atheism as a mere “lack of belief” yet they have entire national conventions for it. Surely at least one of them realized how absurd that is. Or are they too emotionally invested to see their contradiction in action?

    1. +Austin Chinsky This doesn’t require much expertise. You’re trying to have your cake and eat it too. You use the pronoun “we,” which denotes a group, which in turn denotes a doctrine. Atheism is supposed to be a lack of belief, not a belief system in itself. But we’re seeing what it actually is in practice.

  40. where you all get together and remind yourselves that god doesnt really love you as much as he loves pro athletes

  41. jesus christ.  I want to stick my d#ck in her mouth.  I bet she can suck every drop.  Go Jaclyn.  Please give us a taste of what it would like.

  42. If they invite William Davila I will have to drive him. He is in my playlists, best guitar teacher ever. Studied with Ravi Shankar and Andre’ Segoivia, he is older than he looks and refuses to say what that number is, quiet as a mouse and funny as fuck! He broke his right ankle and is still on a cane, pushing a gas peddle is still a long way off. So I drive.

  43. wow i didn’t realise how being an atheist was such a big deal in america , i suppose it shows how my country has disowned religion nearly completely especially in my county.

  44. What is this kind of hair-do called? The hair is much less reflective in this video (spoken as a layperson). I’ve seen this kind of hair somewhere else too, so it seems to be a thing, please let me know!

    1. Atheists=open minded(usually), believes whatever is proven, common sense/critical thinking… But I gotta admit that there are a lot of atheist haters out there.

Christians(or any religion)=believes whatever is written in their “holy book”, close minded(mostly), no critical thinking(never asking yourself: “what if I’m wrong? What is my religion is wrong?”), rarely brings up any good pieces of proof.

  45. I was reading one of the earlier comments about why people get together to talk about something they don’t believe in. Well regardless of whether people believe in something or not people want to be around other people. I can’t wait to go to one of these conventions around my area.

  46. I hope you had a good time, Jacklyn! I wish, as an exmormon, I could have been there. I am stuck in Kentucky, the not – quite – the – south and sorta bible belt place. As a former Mormon and former Utan, it would have been great!

  47. It’s really pathetic that with all the crap going on in the nauseating Middle East that not a single major news outlet presents the views of atheists who are a much larger percentage of the population than is generally acknowledged. The terrorism of the Middle East is a perfect example of medieval religious clap-trap run amok. I graduated high school in 1968 and if anyone then had told me that in the year 2015 we would be talking about crusades and women in veils I’d drop to the floor laughing! Developed countries should be passing constitutional laws stating that religious rights take a back-seat to all other human rights. Separation of church and state should be near the top of any written constitution in these modern times. The superstitious nonsense of organized religions is frankly becoming embarrassing in this age of the Hubble telescope.

  48. I find it good that some US citizens have decided to free themselves from the restricting chains of religion and act like normal people

  49. There’s an “Atheist National Convention”? _Ewwww…_

Can you imagine all that smugness in one place at once? I hope a giant sinkhole opens up under them. That’d be _sah-weet._
